Hey!
I'm Deb, and I am the Maker behind Shay Butter Soapery! I have been a creative-minded crafter my entire life, dabbling in many different hobbies. I have enjoyed watching videos about soap-making on YouTube for several years, but never got into it due to the lye component of the process. In 2021, I was lucky enough to meet my neighbor, now close friend, who is incredibly knowledgeable about the soap-making process as it had been a hobby of hers for many years. She invited me to help her make some soap and I was HOOKED. Between what I knew from watching soapers on YouTube and my new found confidence around lye, there was more than a year's worth of soap in the house. This is when Shay Butter Soapery was born.

It’s Shay, Not Shea!
Ever wonder why "Shay" is seemingly misspelled in our company name? It is actually a coincidental play on words when the business was named after our beagle, Shay. So many times when new people meet her, they comment on how "buttery soft" her ears are. With this, a name was born.
